Trial date set for couple in elderly Royal Oak woman's 2011 death
PONTIAC (AP) -- A trial date has been set for July for two people in the killing of an 80-year-old Royal Oak woman at her home.
Alan Wood and Tonia Watson are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Nancy Dailey, who was found tied up in her home on Nov. 20. They were arrested two days later in Wayne County Canton Township, where police say they attempted to use one of Dailey's bank cards at an ATM.
Wood and Watson appeared Tuesday in Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac where a July 23 trial date was set. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for May 29.
A judge last month ruled there was enough evidence to send the case to trial.
