'Bankruptcy Basics' begin

 The Thomas M. Cooley Law School, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court – Eastern District of Michigan, and Access to Bankruptcy Court, a nonprofit organization that provides free legal representation to low income consumer debtors filing for bankruptcy, conducted “Getting Through It: Bankruptcy Basics” on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Detroit.

Among those taking part in the initial monthly educational seminar were (left to right) Mel Matias, Cooley Law student and presenter; Lauren Rousseau, Cooley Law professor; George Blackmore, Cooley Law student and president of Cooley’s Student Bankruptcy Organization (graduated Jan. 20); Alesia Dobbins of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court – Eastern District of Michigan; and Jerry Thomas, Cooley Law student and presenter.
