Attorneys featured during Fourth Annual Walsh Institute HR Summit
Butzel Long attorneys Rebecca S. Davies, Louis Theros, and Shanta S.W. McMullan will be featured speakers during the Fourth Annual Walsh Institute HR Summit from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Walsh College's Troy campus.
During the HR and management education program, Davies will address the most recent trends in employment litigation and enforcement actions by the various administrative agencies.
McMullan will discuss practical ideas to improve the morale in the workplace while staying in compliance with the law.
Theros will discuss Michigan's "right-to-work" laws and how they may impact both union and non-union employers.
"The Walsh Institute HR Summit is an excellent professional development opportunity for HR professionals," said Davies, one of the planners of the annual event since it began four years ago. "Attendees will gain key information on a variety of issues that can impact all HR departments."
Davies concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of employment law and commercial litigation. She represents employers in federal and state court litigation and before state and federal administrative agencies. Davies regularly counsels employers regarding compliance under federal and state employment laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA and Title VII), drafts policies and procedures, and advises on preventive strategies.
McMullan concentrates her practice in labor and employment law. She represents employers in judicial and administrative proceedings, and provides employment counseling regarding compliance with federal and state employment laws (including FMLA, FLSA, ADA and Title VII).
Theros has more than 20 years of experience in labor and employment law. He concentrates his legal practice in the areas of employment litigation, labor, advising and counseling clients on statutory employment compliance and gaming law.
Butzel Long is a sponsor of the Walsh Leadership Center. Tickets are $45 for alumni and partners and $90 for all others. To register, visit www.thewalshinstitute.com/lchottopics.
