Firm participates in planting project

Members of Butzel Long PC participated in a Tree Planting event in conjunction with the Greening of Detroit on Saturday, April 6, at Stein Park in Detroit.

Ready to plant some trees are (left to right) Butzel Long Shareholder John Hancock, Sherry Rubel, Butzel Long Shareholder Beth Gotthelf, and Steve Campbell.

Gotthelf noted that the planting was part of the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources’ initiative to plant a million trees by 2014.

The Greening of Detroit is a nonprofit resource agency that partners with federal, state and local agencies, corporations and foundations to assist neighborhood groups, churches and schools in their efforts to improve the ecosystem in Detroit through tree planting projects, environmental education, urban agriculture, open space reclamation, vacant land management, and workforce development programs.
