Domestic terrorism case for teen in gun threat

ORCHARD LAKE (AP) -- Local authorities say they've filed domestic terrorism charges against a 16-year-old boy they say made online threats of gun violence against a festival at a Catholic school. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office and Orchard Lake police say parents of students at St. Mary's Preparatory school reported the postings on Twitter and Instagram. Authorities say the postings threatened violence at Saturday's St. Mary's Polish Festival. The sheriff's department says they included photos of an assault rifle and handgun, as well as and fully loaded high-capacity handgun magazines. Authorities say officers arrested a 16-year-old Detroit boy, who faces a charge that carries up to 20 years' imprisonment. He's in juvenile detention without bond and faces another court hearing June 5. His name wasn't released. Published: Thu, May 30, 2013
