Master Lawyers Committee presents review

The Master Lawyers Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, presented “A Review of Social Security and Other Retirement Benefits” with Charles Russman (third from right) of Bodman LLP on Wednesday, May 29, in the Southfield offices of Pepper Hamilton.

Welcoming Russman to the meeting were (left to right) Grosse Pointe Woods attorney Joe Dillon, Stan Bershad of Goldstein, Bershad, & Fried PC; Grosse Ile attorney Chris Dowhan-Bailey; David Murphy of Pepper Hamilton LLP; Terri Serra of the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan; Michelle Makulski; and Dennis Clark of Clark Law Firm PLLC.

“I’ll be talking about retirement benefits in general,” said Russman.  “A little bit about personal savings and your options on tax favored items there; how employer plans work as far as distributions, when you need to take them, how to do it; a lot of emphasis on Social Security, Medicare, how you sign up for it, what different parts are, how they interact with other things you can get like your retiree health; and any questions about all that.”
