Annual Live Downtown Games return this week
DETROIT (AP) -- Office workers at six Detroit companies are set to begin the second year of corporate athletic competition in the annual Live Downtown Games.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Compuware, DTE Energy, Quicken Loans, Marketing Associates and Strategic Staffing Solutions are taking part in the event which runs through Friday.
Opening ceremonies were held in Campus Martius. Events include an obstacle course, volleyball and table tennis tournaments, and a scavenger hunt. They will be held during lunch hours and after the end of the work day.
The games celebrate the two-year anniversary of Live Downtown. The five-year, more than $4 million program seeks to increase density by offering financial incentives to people who work downtown to invest in homes in nearby neighborhoods.
