Oakland Circuit Court judicial candidate Lisa Langton has filed 5403 nominating petitions to be on the August primary ballot. Langton filed 1403 signatures beyond the requirement for the position.
“Since I announced my candidacy earlier this year, more than 200 of Oakland County’s most respected members of the legal, business and political communities have joined my team,” Langton said.
“I’m pleased that Democrats and Republicans; Independents and Non-Partisans; liberals, moderates and conservatives have endorsed my candidacy.
“And, today, I am proud and humbled to report that more than 5,000 Oakland County residents have nominated me to appear on the August primary ballot for the position of circuit court judge.
“I will continue to work hard every day to earn the trust of the people of Oakland County.”
In addition to Wednesday’s petition filing, Langton’s Campaign Finance Committee announced a series of receptions for April and May. Receptions for June and beyond will be announced at a later date.
Finally, the Langton Campaign Committee is pleased to announce that State Representative Hugh Crawford, County Commissioner Kathy Crawford, Troy Mayor Dane Slater, and Rochester Mayor Jeffrey Cuthbertson have endorsed Langton for Circuit Court Judge. Additional endorsements will be announced in the near future.
Langton is currently Oakland County Circuit Court’s deputy court administrator. Prior to her current position, she was in private practice as an advocate for children and families. She’s also a legal lecturer who authored a monthly column for the Oakland County Bar Association from 1998 through 2006.
