Citizens sought to serve on Regional Convention Facility Authority council

 The Oakland County Board of Commissioners is seeking interested citizens to volunteer to serve the community through appointment to the Regional Convention Facility Authority-Citizens Advisory Council.

The Citizens Advisory Council’s role is to provide public input and advise the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority on the impact of redevelopment and management of Cobo Hall. The council also keeps the Oakland County Board of Commissioners informed of progress relating to Cobo Hall and issues associated with it.  The Regional Convention Facility Authority-Citizens Advisory Council does not have any power or authority over Cobo Hall’s operations. 

The position of an Oakland County Representative must be filled by Tuesday, May 20.  This position is for a 4-year term.

A county resident may apply to serve on the Regional Convention Facility Authority-Citizens Advisory Council by completing an application form.  Forms may be requested from the Oakland County Board of Commissioners office at 248-858-0101; or go online at www.oakgov.com/boc and click on the Regional Convention Facility Authority-Citizens Advisory Council link in the Apply for Boards, Commissions and Committees section.
