Charity event fights bullying

Cooley Law School’s Sixth Annual Spring Charity Benefit raised $4,017 in support of Oakland Mediation Center’s implementation of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP).

The event, which featured live music, live comedy, and a silent auction, was hosted on Sunday, June 1, at Cooley’s Auburn Hills campus.

The OBPP Program is designed to reduce existing bullying problems among students, prevent the development of new bullying problems, and achieve better peer relations at school—all of which make the school a safer and more positive place for students to learn and develop.

Currently OBPP is used at the school, classroom, and individual levels and includes methods to reach out to parents and communities for involvement and support.

There is also an optional cyber-bullying curriculum.
