Local bank cited as 2013 Lender of the Year
Southfield-based Hantz Bank has been named the 2013 Community Bank Lender of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Hantz, which was awarded the SBA's Development Lender of the Year Award in Michigan in 2012, approved 30 loans totaling $11.1 million during 2013. The bank approved 26 loans to businesses local to the Michigan communities Hantz Bank serves in 2012.
Hantz Bank's loan volume ranked them in the Top Ten Lenders of the Year. SBA loans are designed to help small businesses receive financing who may have trouble qualifying for traditional loans due to high growth or limited collateral.

The award is presented to the lender which has displayed an ongoing commitment to providing financing to small businesses in the communities in which they serve. Criteria for the award includes improvement in loan activity, based on numbers and percentages for the 2013 fiscal calendar.
