First of three pro bono clinics kicked off

The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA), in partnership with Oakland County Youth Assistance, hosted the first of three free Legal Aid Clinics throughout Oakland County during October – Pro Bono Recognition Month – on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Ferndale Public Library.

Taking part in the clinic were (left to right) Rochester attorney Mona Jabr, Robert Santiago of Legal Aid and Defender Association Inc., Amanda Page of Page Law PLLC, Macomb attorney Jacqueline Zablocki, and OCBA Coordinator of Continuing Legal Education Catherine Neal.

During these free clinics, attorneys and legal aid providers are on site to provide basic legal information as well as brief advice and counsel in the areas of juvenile, family, probate, criminal, general civil, and landlord/tenant matters.

Additional clinics will be held Tuesday, Oct. 14, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lake Orion and on Monday, Oct. 20, at the Southfield Public Library.  All clinics will run from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.

To learn more about the clinics or to register, contact the OCBA at 248-334-3400.
