Medical problems stop Bashara murder trial

DETROIT (AP) - A judge has called a timeout in the murder trial of a Detroit-area man accused of arranging his wife's murder. The case won't resume until Monday due to Bob Bashara's medical problems. Assistant prosecutor Rob Moran says Bashara collapsed Wednesday. Bashara, a former Rotary Club president, is accused of getting his handyman to kill his wife, Jane Bashara of Grosse Pointe Park. Prosecutors say he wanted to clear the way for relationships with other women. Women have testified about a sex dungeon and Bashara's nickname, "Master Bob." The trial started Oct. 14. Handyman Joe Gentz is in prison for second-degree murder after saying he killed Jane Bashara in 2012 on orders from her husband. Published: Fri, Oct 31, 2014
