Clinics to offer legal assistance at law library

The Salvation Army’s William Booth Legal Aid Clinic will be conducting legal aid clinics from 1 to 3 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month for the next five months at the Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library to provide free legal assistance for qualifying low-income individuals.

Legal assistance will be provided in the expungement (setting aside a conviction), and driver’s license restoration processes. Those having difficulty securing employment, housing, or credit due to these issues are highly encouraged to attend.  Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the necessary criteria to be eligible for either court procedure and to receive information on how to begin the process. Likewise, clinic attorneys will also provide assistance with Landlord/Tenant issues to persons needing legal assistance in this area.

The clinics are free of charge and are open to the public.  Individuals do not have to be Oakland County residents to attend. Slots are limited though and people will be served on a first come, first served basis.  Clinic attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library is located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Building 14 East, which is on the second floor of the West Wing Extension, located in the five-story glass building attached to the main courthouse building.
