Free seminar presented by Oakland County Probate Court, September 12

The Oakland County Probate Court is kicking off its fall series of Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court seminars on Monday, Sept. 12,  from 1 to 3 p.m.  at the Farmington Hills Senior Division – Costick Center, 28600 Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills

This free seminar is made possible by the Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts.  This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process.

The seminar will include topics such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and will provide useful information on how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how “avoiding probate” could cause more harm than good.

Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney James Lampertius from Lampertius & Associates PLC in Farmington Hills.  Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.

To register for this free seminar, contact the Farmington Hills Senior Division at 248-473-1830.

This free seminar will also be taking place in Auburn Hills in October and Royal Oak in November.

The Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court seminar, developed by the Citizens Alliance for the Probate and Circuit Courts, has reached thousands of citizens over the past 20 years.
