University of Detroit Mercy School of Law hosted a panel discussion in honor of Constitution Day on Sept. 13. The program was titled “After November: Perspectives on the Future of the Supreme Court and the Constitution.” The discussion focused on emerging constitutional issues, in light of the 2016 elections and the still-vacant seat formerly held by Justice Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court. Panelists were constitutional law experts on the Detroit Mercy Law faculty including (left to right) Professor Khaled Beydoun, Professor Karen McDonald Henning, Professor Kyle Langvardt, Professor Pamela Wilkins, and Associate Dean J. Richard Broughton.
