Firm co-hosts Michigan Defense Industry AUSA reception in D.C.

Butzel Long is co-hosting the 2016 Michigan Defense Industry 5th Annual Arsenal of Innovation Reception at the AUSA Annual Exposition on Monday, Oct. 3, at The Army & Navy Club in Washington, D.C.

Military and defense industry leaders are expected to attend the invitation-only reception when the Association of United States Army (AUSA) National Annual Meeting takes place next week. Other reception co-hosts  include: the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Defense Center and Macomb County. The event also is supported by the Macomb County Chamber, Detroit Regional Chamber and Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“Warren, in Macomb County, is the home of United States Army Detroit Arsenal,” said Beth S. Gotthelf, chair of Butzel Long’s Aerospace and Defense Industry Team. “The Detroit Arsenal houses the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) and TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC), providing ‘cradle-to-grave’ support to America's armed forces and ensuring Army readiness.

“With Detroit Arsenal in our backyard, Michigan is known nationally as a hub for manufacturing in the Defense Industry,” she said. “This event is an opportunity for Government and private defense industry leaders to come together and discuss doing business in Michigan and protecting our service men and women.”
