Board presents proclamations to honorees

PHOTO #1: Judge Young (right) will be retiring at the end of this year.  She was appointed a circuit judge in March 1997 and was assigned to the Family Division (1998-present).  She is the presiding judge of the Adult Treatment Court (male section). Prior to her time on the circuit bench, she served as chief judge of the Oakland County 52nd District Court, 1996-1997.  The Child Abuse and Neglect Council of Oakland County has named its Foster Parent of the Year Award after Judge Young. 

PHOTO #2: Judge Pezzetti (right) is also retiring at the end of this year.  She was appointed to Oakland County Probate Court in 2001, serving in the Family Division.  She has served as chief probate judge, 2008-2009 and present; chief probate judge pro tem, 2004-2007, 2011; and presiding judge Family Division 2010-2013.  Prior to her time on the bench, Pezzetti was a private practice attorney specializing in employment law, media law, school law, and commercial litigation.

PHOTO #3: Ron Borngesser (right) recently announed his retirement as CEO of OLHSA.  He worked at OLHSA for more than 40 years, serving as CEO for the last 17 years.  OLHSA was founded in 1964 as a part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty.  It is the largest private nonprofit agency delivering human services to Oakland and Livingston Counties.


On Thursday, Nov. 10, Oakland County Commissioner Shelley Goodman Taub (on left in all photos) presented proclamations honoring Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Joan E. Young, Oakland County Probate Court Chief Judge Elizabeth Pezzetti, and Ron Borngesser of the Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA). The meeting was conducted in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Auditorium at the Oakland County Courthouse in Pontiac.
