'Criminal Law 2016 Film Fest' offered by OCBA, December 5-8

The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) will host the “Criminal Law 2016 Film Fest” on Monday through Thursday, Dec. 5-8, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day at the Oakland County Bar Center, 1760 S. Telegraph Rd. in Bloomfield Hills. The program will showcase the current videos from the “Anatomy of a Criminal Case” brown bag lunch lecture series.

Attendees can earn credit for criminal assignment requirements. To receive credit, viewers must arrive within 10 minutes of the start of each video.

Two videos will be shown each day. The cost for this video replay is $20 per video. The first video will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the second video will begin at noon each day.

The dates and topics are as follows:

• Monday, Dec. 5, Video A—Understanding the Pre-Sentencing Investigative Report and the Scoring of Guidelines; Video B—Understanding the Role of Community Corrections.

• Tuesday, Dec. 6, Video A—Courtroom Technology: It’s Not Just Flip Charts Anymore!; Video B—Trauma Drama and Getting Your Client to Help You Represent Them.

• Wednesday, Dec. 7, Video A—Sentencing Considerations: The Defense and Prosecution Views; Video B—Analysis of Child Head Trauma.

• Thursday, Dec. 8, Video A—The New MIDC Rules: Best Practices in Oakland County; Video B—Representing the Domestic Violence Defendant.
