Second man sentenced in firefighter's death

DETROIT (AP) - A second man has been sentenced in the bludgeoning death of a 59-year-old firefighter in his Detroit home.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says last Thursday that Christian Rasnick will serve 10 to 30 years in prison.

Timmy Lynn Soto was sentenced lsat Wednesday to 38 to 80 years, plus two years to run consecutively on a weapons charge.

Rasnick and Soto were charged with second-degree murder. A third defendant, Nicole Oneill, is scheduled to go on trial March 8 on robbery, arson and larceny charges.

David Madrigal's body was found Dec. 21, 2015 by his son. Madrigal was asleep when he was beaten with a gym weight. His home also was ransacked. The 26-year Detroit Fire Department veteran had planned to retire this year.
