'Cocktails for a Cause'

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law’s If/When/How student club hosted “Cocktails for a Cause” on Thursday, January 26, at Punch Bowl Social in Detroit. All proceeds went toward Enough SAID Detroit which is dedicated to testing the 11,000 forgotten and unfunded rape kits in Detroit and prosecuting cases for the victims. Helping to raise funds at the event were (left to right) Michelle Busuito, Anchal Bahtia, Katie Wootton, Aruna Vithiananthan, Kiran Chooti, and Detroit Mercy Law Dean Phyllis Crocker. “Each rape kit costs $490.  We have raised, I think, approximately or around $6,000 as of now. So we are hoping that it goes to make a difference,” noted Vithiananthan, the If/When/How chapter president. If/When/How is a student club that is part of a national U.S. organization that mobilizes law students and legal professionals who are interested in reproductive justice.
