Trademark talk

The Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association hosted a lunch meeting on Tuesday, February 21, at the Skyline Club in Southfield. Guest speaker David Hannon (left) of Bejin Bieneman PLC spoke on “Trademarks:?Online Evidence for the Use in Commerce Requirement.” Thanking Hannon for addressing the lunch was Tim Bradley of Carlson, Gaskey, & Olds PC. “I’m going to be talking about the recent federal circuit decision, Christian Faith Fellowship v Adidas, which applied the general commerce clause standard to the use in commerce requirement of trademarks and the effects it may have in cases going forward, and may not have, and what steps attorneys can take representing clients in trademark disputes to avoid pitfalls when use is challenged,” Hannon said.
