Multi-specialty law firm Maddin, Hauser, Roth, & Heller PC and two of its attorneys have been recognized in Chambers USA.

The announcement was made by the firm's president and CEO, Steven D. Sallen. "We are proud that our firm has once again been recognized by Chambers USA and that our highly respected attorneys have been continuously acknowledged for their expertise and client service in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice areas," said Sallen.

Chambers USA recognized Maddin Hauser in the area of Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation.

Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer, & Weiss, PC has appointed partner Jyotsna Balakrishnan as co-chair of the firm's Emerging & Growth Business practice group. Jaffe CEO Bill Sider made the announcement.

Jaffe's Emerging & Growth Business practice group is focused on representing entrepreneurs, start-up companies and growing businesses in all areas of formation, development, financing, intellectual property protection and complex business transactions. Balakrishnan will work alongside co-chair Sara Kruse, and be responsible for serving as a leader in the areas of education, collaboration and business development for the group.

Balakrishnan has experience in representing start-ups and growth state companies in financing (seed, debt, bridge and growth capital) and strategic transactions. Her expertise includes working closely with founders on setting proposed terms for raising capital and formulating financing strategies. She also counsels companies on corporate governance matters, employee incentive plans, negotiates and forges a variety of business transactions-including joint ventures and distribution agreements-as well as buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions.

Balakrishnan earned a Master of Laws degree with a focus on corporate and securities laws from Columbia Law School. She graduated from the National Law School of India, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees.

Secrest Wardle attorneys Jennifer C. Hill and Margaret A. Scott recently attended the Waterford State of the Township Breakfast on February 15. The event took place at the Overtyme Fireside Lounge in Waterford Township and was presented by Waterford Township Supervisor, Gary Wall; Waterford School Superintendent, Dr. Keith D. Wunderlich; and Keith Paolovich of Oakland Community College.

Hill, a partner in the firm's Troy location, currently serves on the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a past-president and past-vice president of the Chamber. Scott, an executive partner in Secrest Wardle's Troy location, serves Waterford Township as local ordinance prosecutor at the 51st District Court.

Hill, a current Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce Board member had the following to say about the event:

Scott, current prosecutor for the township at the local ordinance level and former Oakland County prosecuting attorney, also commented on the event:

I actively work with the Waterford Township Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments in achieving positive outcomes for residents, visitors, and entities doing business in the Township. Waterford Township offers numerous programs aimed at developing the community and I feel privileged to be a part of it."

Collins, Einhorn, Farrell PC is pleased to announce that attorney Patrick J. Walbridge has joined the firm's General and Automotive Liability practice group. Walbridge focuses his practice on first- and third-party automobile defense, premises liability actions and product liability matters. Walbridge brings with him experience in defending a wide range of matters, including his current areas of focus as well as breach of contract and negligence.

Walbridge graduated in 2011 from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Pre-Law and a Minor in Philosophy. He then went on to obtain his law degree from the University of Detroit

Walbridge is licensed with the State Bar of Michigan and is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association.
