Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder wrapped up his time at the world's leading innovation event last Thursday, where he shared with CES attendees how Michigan is at the forefront of mobility and spread the message that Michigan welcomes partnerships to globally harmonize the future of autonomous driving and vehicle connectivity.

Over the course of three days, Snyder participated in three panel sessions, walked the show floor of the Las Vegas Convention Center to meet with exhibitors from around the world, and met with several in- and out-of-state mobility-focused companies, startup founders and key technology influencers to strengthen and grow relationships and promote Michigan as the hub for innovation and economic opportunity.

"As a proud nerd, participating in CES was an incredible opportunity to see firsthand the next-generation technology driving our world, and to connect with business leaders around the globe to share our success story and promote Michigan as the place for partnerships and investments around technology and mobility," Snyder said.

Snyder joined panelists throughout the week including fellow governors and senior tech executives to speak to conference goers about public policy's role in unleashing the benefits of mobility, the future of transportation, and how states can be innovation leaders.

He stressed the importance of government's need to innovate and experiment to keep up with today's quickly developing technology, the value of building public-private partnerships, and the need for global collaboration and data sharing to synchronize the future of the transportation industry.

Snyder was joined by a delegation from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to help promote Michigan's automotive and mobility strength, advance manufacturing and IT sectors, and promote PlanetM Michigan's initiative to show the world that nowhere else on the planet has the capabilities to lead the next generation of mobility efforts.

CES is an annual trade show organized by the Consumer Technology Association. It draws more than 4,000 exhibiting companies, including manufacturers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, and technology delivery systems. The conference program has more than 300 sessions and more than 170,000 attendees from 150 countries.
