Business Court Committee honors retiring judge

The Business Court and Counsel Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association hosted an “Appreciation of Service to the Bench” event honoring Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Wendy Potts (center) who will be retiring later this year. Happy to congratulate Potts on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse in Troy were (left to right) Oakland County Circuit Court Judge James Alexander and Dave Gorcyca of Giarmarco, Mullins, & Horton PC. Potts began her judicial career in 1997 as a Probate Court judge for the county.  She and Alexander were appointed to the Oakland County Business Court in 2013. The Business Court was created by Public Act 333 of 2012 to establish the best practices for the resolution of business cases; to improve the efficiency of the courts and to utilize technology in managing business court cases; and to enhance the accuracy, consistency, and predictability of decisions in business and commercial cases.
