Government Law Winter Seminar offered by SBM in Dearborn on Feb. 8

The State Bar of Michigan Government Law Winter Seminar will be conducted Friday, Feb. 8, at Henry Hotel, 300 Town Center Dr. in Dearborn, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The morning session  of “From Marihuana to Micro-Breweries and Everything in Between” will focus on recreational marihuana and the afternoon session will be a variety of topics ranging from an update on liquor license laws, cell tower antennas in the right of way, and regulation or planning for autonomous vehicles and other innovative mobility trends.

Morning sessions include: MML White Paper Regarding the Recreational Marihuana Ballot Proposition, Clyde Robinson; Public Employees and Recreational Marihuana, Grant Pecor; Recreational Marihuana and Public Places, Laura Bassett; and Prosecuting Cannabis Driving Cases, Dr. Michelle Glinn, Lt. Chris Hawkins, Officer Wes Evans, and Kit Tholen.

Afternoon sessions include: Liquor Laws Update; Municipal ROW Preemption, SB 637, The FCC ROW, and Cable Franchise Orders, Mike Watza; Planning or Regulating Autonomous Vehicles and Other Mobility Trends, Justin Snowden; and Cracker Barrel, moderated by Chris Forsyth.

Cost to attend is $125 for section members, $150 for non-members and $25 for law students.
