Section presents ADR Summit at law school

The State Bar of Michigan Alternative Dispute Resolution Section will host its 2019 ADR Summit on Tuesday, March 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Auburn Hills campus of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, 2630 Featherstone Rd. 

Dwight Golann, a nationally renowned mediator, prize-winning author and speaker will be the featured presenter. Golann is a mediator’s mediator. He trains mediators all over the world. His book, “Mediating Legal Disputes: Effective Strategies for Neutrals and Advocates” is a top seller on Amazon.

Key summit topics include: Beyond Abstinence: Promoting Safe and Impartial Evaluation in Mediation; Merits Barriers – Evaluation and Decision Analysis; Grieving Over Settlement – The Role of Loss in Settlement Negotiations; and Resolving Impasse and Achieving Closure.

The presentation will conclude with a networking reception including complimentary beer, wine and appetizers. This program has been approved for 8 hours of advanced mediator training credit by the State Court Administrative Office.

Cost to attend (includes lunch and the catered reception) is $155 for ADR section members; $155 for Negligence Law, Business Law, and Probate section members; $195 for non-section members; $25 for law students; and no cost to WMU-Cooley law students.  Registration is requested by March 15 online at http://connect.michbar.org/adr/home.
