CYBERSPACE SIGHTING: Michigan Land Bank launches new website

The Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority has launched its new and improved website to increase efficiency and improve the user experience for those searching for property in Michigan.

"Our team is very excited to offer our customers an improved user experience and access to the information they need," Michigan Land Bank Interim Director Jeff Huntington said. "As we move forward, our team is always on the lookout for ways to improve our operations and ensure we are creating a positive experience for the developers, residents, vendors and local units of government we serve."

In an effort to make this site a streamlined, one-stop shop for those searching for Land Bank property in Michigan, this new website increases ease of access to important information for property search, news, events and other resources. There are three new features on the updated website Engage with Us, Available Properties, and Featured Programs and Promotions.

Engage with Us

This panel is a great resource for stakeholders. The four different pages provide important information for developers, contractors and vendors, residents and local government. It highlights the Property Search feature, provide resources for developers and vendors, and connect individuals with Land Bank staff that can best answer questions.

Available Properties

There are currently more than 2,500 residential, commercial, industrial, or agricultural properties available for purchase on the Land Bank's Property Search site. This panel features Property Search information and a direct link to our Requests for Proposals and Qualifications page. Returning property to productive use is the mission of the Michigan Land Bank and property disposition plays a key role.

Featured Programs and Promotions

This panel, located on the "Inside the Land Bank" tab, highlights available programs and promotions related to blight, housing development, and property disposition. When grant programs or other promotions are available, the Land Bank will post updates on the respective pages.

With the launch of this new website, the Michigan Land Bank will begin featuring properties on its Facebook page as well. Social media followers can stay up to date on property news, events and promotion launches.

Since 2010, the Michigan Land Bank has seen many positive changes. The agency has demolished more than 3,000 blighted structures and returned almost 2,000 properties back to productive use.
