School to host hearing on '5G, AI, Privacy, and New Civil Rights Fights'

Wayne State University Law School will host a special event titled “FTC and FCC Field Hearing – 5G, AI, Privacy and the New Civil Rights Fights” from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday, March 16, at Wayne Law’s Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, 471 West Palmer in Detroit.

5G and sophisticated algorithms promise to utilize massive amounts of data to transform the way people live, work and play. 5G and AI pose both promises for a fruitful future as well as privacy perils for already marginalized communities. Attendees can join this in-depth discussion with top federal officials about civil rights online.

The event is free to attend. For additional information, contact Austin King at 608-213-0104 or aking@ftc.gov.
