'Generational Diversity Communication' in mediation examined

The Oakland Mediation Center (OMC) will offer “Mediation Across The Ages—A Generational Diversity Communication” taking place online Tuesday, August 25, from 1 to 5 p.m. Both new and seasoned mediators will learn how to recognize circumstances where generational differences may cause conflict, understand factors that can lead to generational commonalities, and learn to utilize the strengths of generational diversity to promote conflict resolution.

“OMC has been dedicated to providing quality mediation training for over 29 years,” said Charity Burke, OMC executive director. “Training is designed to give participants, from all backgrounds, skills they can use immediately to serve and make a lasting impact on our community.”

OMC’s trainings are approved by SCAO and are designed to be highly interactive and skill based. This training will take place online using the free downloadable conferencing software Zoom. Course materials, role plays, and Zoom instructions will be sent to participants prior to the date of training. For more information about these trainings and others, contact Ashley Turner at 248-338-4280, ext. 211 or aturner@mediation-omc.org.
