'Diversity and Implicit Bias Training' offered by OCBA, Nov. 18

The Oakland County Bar Association will present "Diversity and Implicit Bias Training" as an online Zoom program on Wednesday, November 18, from 9 to 11 a.m.

This interactive training will combine lecture with small-group breakout sessions to help trainees understand and acknowledge that differences do exist. Topics of discussion will include:

  - Terms associated with diversity and bias
  - How cultural differences may affect interactions among individuals
  - Cultural competence
  - Methodologies for addressing diversity issues

Speaking at the program will be Earlene Baggett-Hayes of Law & Mediation Center PLLC.

Space for this seminar is limited to 24 and it will not be videotaped. Credit has been approved with the Oakland County Bar Association for 2 Criminal credits and 2 Juvenile credits.

Cost for the seminar is $40 for OCBA members; $30 for OCBA new lawyers, paralegals, and students; and $60 for non-members. MIDC court appointed attorneys can attend for free.
