Law grads pass July bar exam, online admission ceremonies planned

The list of those who passed the July bar exam has been posted by the State Board of Law Examiners and is available on the Board’s website, https://courts.michigan.gov/Courts/MichiganSupremeCourt/BLE/Pages/default.aspx.

Virtual admission ceremonies have been planned and include the following:

• The Oakland County Bar Association will host the fall 2020 New Lawyers Admissions Ceremony with the Oakland County Circuit Court for the July bar passers on Friday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to noon.  This event will be held virtually and will consist of a short program led by Oakland County Circuit Court Chief Judge Shalina Kumar, Oakland County Probate Court Chief Judge Kathleen Ryan, and numerous other circuit and district judges.  To register, visit www.ocba.org and click on “events.”

• The Detroit Bar Association and the Third Circuit Court have partnered to conduct a virtual Admissions Ceremony on Thursday, November 12, from noon to 1:30 p.m.  Introductions will be made by Chief Judge Timothy Kenny, Lawyers Oath will be administered by Judge Miriam Bazzi, and Welcoming speech will be delivered by Judge Noah Hood.  An online reception will follow the swearing-in ceremony.  To register, visit www.detroitlawyer.org/admissions-ceremony.

• The Michigan Supreme Court and State Bar of Michigan are conducting an admissions ceremony online via Zoom before Chief Justice Bridget McCormack on Monday, November 30, at 2 p.m.  Bar passers who would like to participate need to fill out the online form at www.surveymonkey.com/r/7TCSZ79 by Monday, November 16.
