Oakland County and Honor Community Health on Monday celebrated the grand opening of Honor’s clinics which are co-located at Oakland County Health Division’s offices in Pontiac and Southfield offering affordable health care for residents, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. The clinics are part of Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter’s Health360 initiative which aims to close a major health care gap for 227,000 uninsured or underinsured county residents through a partnership with Honor.

“Addressing the disparities in access to health care has been a key priority for me and my administration since day one and we did not allow the pandemic to deter us from tackling that goal,” Coulter said. “The partnerships we are establishing through Health360 will provide quality and affordable health care to residents who may not otherwise have access to those services. “

Honor Community Health will provide a broad range of primary, behavioral health, and dental care for the community at the Health Division’s North Oakland Health Center (Mondays and Wednesdays) and South Oakland Health Center (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays). These services will include:

  • Primary care
  • Chronic disease management (high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, etc.)
  • Reproductive Health Services for males and females (birth control, STI screening, basic infertility, pregnancy testing, and more.
  • Women’s health
  • Pediatric services
  • Dental services (limited onsite/appointment only)

“We are ecstatic to continue our long-term partnership providing comprehensive and integrated services at both of the Health Division locations in Pontiac and Southfield” said Deb Brinson, CEO of Honor Community Health. “By serving patients where they are with a dedicated community partner, Oakland County residents can receive access to a high-quality network of services and be part of a medical home.”

These services are meant to serve as a complement to those already provided by the Health Division. Clients interested in receiving services from Honor Community Health may call 248-724-7600 or visit their website at honorcommunityhealth.org. Honor Community Health will help determine the services and location for the client. If a client is already in the office receiving services, a referral process will occur between the agencies to reduce redundancy for the client.

“By integrating care at our Pontiac and Southfield locations, we are directly addressing a shortage of health care providers that exists in the surrounding areas,” said Leigh-Anne Stafford, director of Oakland County Health & Human Services. “Residents will be able to access a variety of prevention services, healthcare and social service assistance.”

Honor Community Health began co-locating and offering services in a temporary space last year with great success.

The permanent clinics are located at the following addresses:

  • North Oakland Health Center, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Building 34 East, Pontiac
  • South Oakland Health Center, 27725 Greenfield Road, Southfield

Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.
