Third Annual Culinary Challenge to raise funds with gourmet treats

As a summer party hosted at a judge's home, the Bench Bar Culinary Challenge Committee's Third Annual Culinary Challenge brings together more than 150 lawyers and judges in metro Detroit for a friendly rivalry to benefit charities. The event provides a chance for judges to show off their culinary talents and for lawyers to judge the judges for a change. Judges who like to cook can enter in either the appetizer or the dessert category, or they can just attend and cast their vote with everyone else.

All money raised will go to Alternatives for Girls, Cross Roads for Youth and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation's scholarship program.

The Culinary Challenge also features a live grill-off between teams "Grilled by the Bench" and "Grilled by the Hour."

Oakland County Probate Judge Linda Hallmark will host this year's Challenge on Thursday, June 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m..

Tickets are $50 and there are also opportunities to sponsor a chef or be a judge's fan.
