News (AP) - Texas man enters plea in slaying of Troy couple

DETROIT (AP) -- A Texas man accused of hiring a hit man to kill an Oakland County couple has pleaded guilty.

Federal authorities say 42-year-old Douglas Tobar of Houston entered his plea Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

They say Tobar and Narayan Thadani arranged to have Brij Chhabra and Aasha Chhabra killed to settle a financial dispute. The couple was shot in March 2008 in their Troy home.

Their bodies were found after police in Taylor stopped a car heading south on Interstate 75 and found a diagram and address of the home and a copy of a passport photo.

Thadani pleaded guilty last month and will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Miguel Servando pleaded guilty in November to two counts of murder-for-hire.
