Washtenaw County Bar Association President Greg Dodd hosted an informal President’s Speakeasy on Nov. 12, at Conor O’Neill’s in Ann Arbor.

Don Campbell, from Collins Einhorn Farrell PC in Southfield, who concentrates his law practice in attorney grievance defense, representation in judicial tenure matters and legal malpractice defense, was the guest speaker and spoke about professional ethics, judicial tenure matters, and non-refundable retainers.

 In addition to his law practice, Campbell has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law teaching courses in Ethics and Criminal Law, since 2002.

He also regularly teaches a seminar in Corporate Law and Ethics.

The son of retired Judge Patricia Campbell from the Wayne County Juvenile Court, Campbell served 10 years as an Associate Counsel for the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission and four years as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in  Oakland County,  before joining the law firm in 2003.

He also is liaison, Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, American Bar Association; President-elect, Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers; a member of the State Bar of Michigan 21st Century Practice Committee, and a member of the Oakland County Bar Association and Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association.

Named among Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers, and dbusiness Top Lawyers, Campbell was named 2014 Lawyer of Year in Detroit for Ethics and Professional Responsibility Law. He has served two terms as a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Ethics Committee.
