Volunteers needed for Constitution Day

This year's Constitution Day is September 17 and the WCBA will be celebrating on Friday, September 16.

For the seventh consecutive year, the WCBA has again offered to send lawyers and law students to the classrooms at the following local schools: Tappan, Forsythe, Clague, Slauson, STEAM, Pioneer, Pathways, Huron, Community, and Skyline.

This program has gained national attention and brought the 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th and 14th Amendments alive for thousands of students. Teachers laud the program and welcome volunteers into their classrooms.

Volunteering takes about an hour to review the materials, 10 minutes to contact a teacher, and anywhere from 1.5 hours to a full day to volunteer, depending on how many classrooms a volunteer wants to visit.

The WCBA also is looking for building captains to help with coordinating volunteers at each school.

Sign Up Genius will go up as soon as teachers get their classroom assignments. Meanwhile, save the date and feel free to email Alexander W. Hermanowski at alexherm@umich.edu.
