Lee joins Brinks Gilson & Lione

Sungwook (Sung) Lee has joined the Ann Arbor office of Brinks Gilson & Lione, as a patent attorney.

Immediately prior to joining Brinks, Lee worked as a U.S. patent attorney for Viering, Jentschura & Partner in Germany, where he gained experience with both the European patent system and the United States patent system.
At Brinks, he will use that knowledge and experience to benefit clients applying for patent protection in the U.S. and internationally.

Before becoming an attorney, Lee was an automotive engineer and worked for more than 10 years in Michigan’s automotive industry. He has technical expertise in mechanical structures, machines and material technology. In particular, he has technical expertise in the field of automotive structures, including automotive interior and exterior structures and automotive engine and transmission systems, as well as software related to automobile collision simulations.

Lee holds a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University School of Law and a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST). He is a member of the Korean-American Professionals in the Automotive Industry (KPAI).
