The Washtenaw County Bar Association Public Service/Pro Bono Committee once again sponsored Avalon Housing’s “Gardening with Grace” program, aimed at beautifying some Avalon properties.
In the past, 164 flats of flowers were planted by Avalon around 20 different sites – with nearly 6,000 individual plants brightening up neighborhoods.
Vegetable gardens at 15 sites harvested 3,500 lbs. of organic produce used by Avalon residents.
Avalon Housing provides permanent affordable and supportive rental housing for Washtenaw County’s lowest income households, with a priority for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and who have a mental or physical disability.
