Attorney John J. Carver joins Bodman PLC

Business attorney John J. (Jack) Carver has joined Bodman PLC as a member and will practice in the Ann Arbor office as a member of the Business and Banking Practice Groups.

Carver represents clients in general business transactions and in matters involving corporate governance, commercial contractual issues, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and debt and equity financing.

Carver previously served as general counsel to a Detroit-based technology company, where he was responsible for implementing legal solutions in line with the strategic mission and overseeing efforts relating to corporate governance, strategic investments and partnerships, risk management, and general business operations.

Before that, he was in-house counsel for one of Michigan’s largest family offices, where he assisted active venture capital and emerging companies interests, and he has worked as an associate in the corporate group of a large Milwaukee law firm.

Carver earned his  J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was an associate editor of the Michigan Journal of Environmental and Administrative Law; and interned for Judge Richard Conlin, 14th District Court.
