40-hour General Civil Mediation training at The Dispute Resolution Center starts Nov. 2


Want to learn more about and strengthen your conflict resolution skills? The Dispute Resolution Center's 40 Hour General Civil Mediation training begins Nov. 2.

The training will be held on Zoom and facilitated and led by attorneys Antionette (Toni) Raheem and Earlene Baggett Hayes.

Mediators will learn skills that can be used in personal relationships and professional situations. Participants will learn:

• Different kinds of conflict

• Getting past: “you’re wrong…I’m right”

• Effective listening and recognizing non-verbal communication

• Balancing power

• Using neutral language to express different points of view

• Cultural and gender issues in mediation

• Dealing with strong emotions

• Finding “win-win” solutions

• Writing agreements that work

• How to become a volunteer mediator

The cost is: $995.
