Domestic Mediation Training set to run in February, via Zoom

The Resolution Services Center of Central Michigan will be holding a six-day Domestic Mediation Training, via Zoom.

Sessions, with trainer Peg McDougall, will run 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., February 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15. This is a SCAO-approved training.

• Learn how to become an approved domestic relations mediator in Michigan

• Includes the Required Domestic Violence Screening Protocol Training

• Class size is limited allowing for personal coaching

• Training is highly interactive

• Receive a comprehensive Domestic Mediation manual and Domestic Violence Protocol manual

Topics:

• Effective conflict management

» Mediation process, techniques and agreement writing

• Understanding the difference between positions and interests

• Support and parenting arrangements

• Custody issues

• Property division

» Financial issues

• The emotional stages of divorce

• Working constructively with attorneys

» Screening for domestic violence and other impediments to mediation

• Ethics and standards of practice

• Be coached in role plays by experienced mediators
