Section presents medical marijuana law seminar

The State Bar of Michigan General Practice - Solo and Small Firm Section will present a seminar titled "Medical Marijuana: The Current State of the Law" at noon on Thursday, May 9, at Ginopolis Bar B Q Smokehouse in Farmington Hills. The Michigan legislature pushed through changes to the Michigan Medical Marihuana Law that took effect on April 1 and will affect all of the state's 131,000 authorized medical marijuana patients and 27,000 registered caregivers. This seminar will update attorneys on these changes, as well as recent developments in legal cases involving medical marijuana. Presenters of the seminar include Matthew R. Abel, founder and senior partner at Cannabis Counsel PLC, a Michigan firm devoted entirely to cannabis clients and cases; and William L. Cataldo, chief of homicide for the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office who worked previously as a criminal defense attorney and law professor.
