Man in court in assault knocks out deputy

DETROIT (AP) - A suburban Detroit man already in trouble for an assault on a police officer last month has been arrested on accusations he hit and knocked out a sheriff's deputy at a courthouse. The Detroit News says that 29-year-old Deandre Wilson was with his caseworker at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit last Friday when he struck 32-year-old Deputy Crystal Dominguez in the head. Sheriff Benny Napoleon says Wilson was in court for a hearing on charges of assaulting a Taylor police officer last month. Wilson was arraigned Saturday on fresh charges of resisting and obstructing a police officer. A judge in Romulus set his bond at $300,000 and scheduled a Jan. 15 probable cause hearing in Detroit District Court. It's unknown if Wilson has a lawyer. Published: Tue, Jan 06, 2015
