DETROIT (AP) — Art X Detroit is scheduled to start this week and span three weekends in April at nearly 20 venues across the city.
The free celebration of Detroit’s art scene includes visual art installations, dance, musical and theatrical performances, film screenings, literary readings and workshops.
The works of nearly 40 Kresge eminent artists and artist fellows also will be featured.
A reading and lecture by writer Lynne Tillman will help kick off the events Thursday at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.
Other venues include the Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Film Theatre, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and the Detroit Opera House.
