Professionalism in Action

Wayne State University Law School first-year students discussed the importance of workplace civility and ethics Friday, Jan. 27, with metro Detroit attorneys and judges through the Professionalism in Action program. Wayne Law and the State Bar of Michigan presented the program on Wayne State University’s campus. Speakers at this year’s program included (left to right) Darin Day, State Bar of Michigan director of outreach and constituent development; Kristin Theut, Wayne Law class of 1990, director of legal research and writing; Wayne Law Interim Dean Lance Gable; State Bar of Michigan President Lawrence P. Nolan; and Felicia Thomas, assistant dean of student affairs and director of diversity initiatives. Professionalism in Action emphasizes the importance of professionalism through a series of hypothetical situations, which are discussed in small-groups comprised of law students, lawyers and members of the judiciary.
