Program to focus on effective sentencing memo writing, May 21

The Oakland County Bar Association will present “The Art of Writing an Effective Sentencing Memo” on Tuesday, May 21, from noon to 1 p.m. at the OCBA offices in Bloomfield Hills.

Do the circumstances surrounding a client’s case lend themselves to a mitigated sentence? If so, one of the best ways for an attorney to organize thoughts and effectively represent the client at sentencing is to create a solid sentencing memorandum. The program’s experts will provide an overview of the factors that go into writing this important document.

Speaking at the program wil be Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren and Emily E. Long of Long Law PLLC.

Credit has been approved with the OCBA for 1 criminal credit and 1 juvenile credit.

Cost for OCBA members is $12 pre-registration and $25 on site registration. Non-members pay $25 pre-registration and $40 on site registration.  MIDC court appointed attorneys can attend for free.
