Helping families explored in MJI webinar, December 14

The Michigan Judicial Institute (MJI) is pleased to offer the webinar “Moving Families from Surviving to Thriving” on Tuesday, December 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Many feel like they are just surviving the day, week, and month.  For too many families, this is a way of life.  The conventional and traditional approach to working with families relies on a deficit approach with a concentration on risk factors. Webinar attendees will learn about how a strength-based approach is different and how it can move families from surviving to thriving.

This training is intended for all child welfare professionals including jurists, court staff, prosecutors, attorneys, Lawyer Guardians Ad Litem, CPS and foster care workers, tribes, private agencies, law enforcement, mental health providers, and education professionals.

Speaking at the webinar will be Maureen Hollocker, lead trainer, Children’s Trust Fund Alliance; and LaCrisha Rose, parent partnership associate, Children’s Trust Fund Alliance.
