The Michigan Attorney General Hospital Sale Review Team will host a public forum on the joint venture between Metro Health and CHS on Thursday, April 23, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Metro Health Conference Center, 2225 Main St. NW, Wyoming, MI 49519.
In January 2015, for-profit Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHS) agreed to form an 80/20 joint venture with nonprofit Metro Health, in which CHS will become an 80% owner. The proposed sale requires approval by the Attorney General of the State of Michigan. This public forum will provide the public with an overview of the proposed sale, outline the Attorney General's review process, and allow the public to comment and submit questions.
Representatives of Metro Health and Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHS) will attend.
The following parties have also been invited to attend: regional hospitals, regional and statewide medical associations, and local and county government officials.
This community forum will: 1) provide the public with an overview of the proposed sale; 2) outline the Attorney General’s review process; and most importantly, 3) provide the public an opportunity to comment and submit questions. Representatives of Metro Health and CHS will attend to listen and respond to public comments.
Citizens planning to provide comment are encouraged to arrive early and complete a comment card. A wealth of materials including background information, frequently asked questions, and transaction documents are available on the Attorney General's website at www.mi.gov/metrohealth.
