Caulley and Contreras join Miller Johnson

Miller Johnson welcomes two new associates to Grand Rapids:

Angela M. Caulley joins the probate and estate planning group.  She will work on drafting documents for estate plans, assisting with probate process as well as elder law matters such as Medicaid planning. Prior to law school she taught mathematics at a high school in Battle Creek.

Caulley earned her J.D. summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2017. She was a Dean Charles H. King Scholar and an Editor of the Michigan State Law Review. Caulley received numerous Jurisprudence Achievement Awards. She was a judicial extern to the Hon. Curtis J. Bell in Kalamazoo County Probate Court.  Caulley received BS degrees in Mathematics and Psychology from Grand Valley State University, where she stays active as Finance Advisor to Sigma Kappa Sorority.

Alejandro (Alex) Contreras is continuing her litigation practice. She previously worked at Cadwalader Wicksham and Taft in New York, NY, with the commercial litigation group, on constitutional law, bankruptcy, patents, secured transactions and trust matters. In addition to research, she drafted memoranda  and motions for ongoing litigation.

During law school, Contreras represented an immigrant in deportation proceedings in Immigration Court through the NYU Immigrant Rights Clinic. She spent the summer after her first year of law school interviewing immigrant victims of trafficking and filing T-Visa applications.

Contreras graduated from New York University School of Law where she was on the staff of Journal of Legislation and Public Policy.
